It just so happens that I signed
up for a domain name from IPower in January. It took them from that time until around the 5th of March to actually purchase
the name. I Purchased Hosting and my domain name from Ipower, but when I tried using this domain name, I found that it was
never purchased by IPower.
It took a lot of calls where
I was left on hold for almost an hour several times. The best time to call their customer support is around 2:00 am, due to
their outsourcing of their customer service to another country. Their support was slow and a few of the customer service reps
were rude.
I finally resolve the issue,
but not before my credit card was charged again for the services that I had already paid for. Then I had to go through the
process over again to get a refund. The customer rep. Did not tell me she was going to charge my card for anything, and it
was an unauthorized charge.
The products and services IPower
offer for the money is a good value but the quality of the service can use some improvements. I cannot comment on their hosting
services yet, as the company that recommended IPower to me have not upheld their
contract with me about the website they were designing. I think the web designer owns or is in partnership with IPower in
some way, as they said that I had to use IPower to use them. But I am sure that IPower have many satisfied customers. I just
was not one of them. I am also sure that I am not the only dissatisfied customer.
When they resolved my issue
about the credit card unauthorized charge, IPower issued a charge-back to my card and gave me two free years of the domain
name
at no charge. But they did
not put it in writing, so I will have to see about that.
If IPower was not located in
another country the customer service would be a lot better. At the moment, if I had a choice between several Domain Hosting
companies and IPower, IPower would not be my first choice.
